The GIS Datasets contain the route and stations of the 172km Thar Jath – Heglig Oil Pipeline, which starts from Thar Jath CPF in El Leiri, Unity, South Sudan and ends at PS-01 of Greater Nile Oil Pipeline (GNOP) in Abyei, West Kurdufan, Sudan. This pipeline is also known as Block 5A Oil Export Pipeline.

2 Files Included

Three GIS datasets are included in this product based on pipeline facility types. Additionally, some GIS formats do not allow the mixing of different entity types (i.e., points, lines, and areas) within a single file.

2.1 Route of Thar Jath – Heglig Oil Pipeline (Block 5A Oil Export Pipeline)

The datasets contain a line with the exact location coordinates of 166 Turning Points along the pipeline route.

2.2 Main Stations of Thar Jath – Heglig Oil Pipeline (Block 5A Oil Export Pipeline)

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 3 oil field CPF, pump station and oil terminal.

2.3 Block Valve Stations of Thar Jath – Heglig Oil Pipeline (Block 5A Oil Export Pipeline)

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 2 block valve stations (BV).

We provide three types of file formats: .kmz, .shp, and .xlsx. Our users can open .kmz and .shp files with various GIS software and convert them into other GIS formats. You can use Excel to open .xlsx files, which contain the coordinates of pipeline route turning points and stations.
