Description

The GIS Datasets contain the route and stations of the 1506km 28″ Greater Nile Oil Pipeline (GNOP), which starts from Heglig CPF in Abyei, West Kurdufan and ends at Marine Terminal (Bashayer-1) in Sawakin Town, Red Sea. This pipeline is also known as Block 1/2/4 Crude Oil Export Pipeline.

2 Files Included

Three GIS datasets are included in this product based on pipeline facility types. Additionally, some GIS formats do not allow the mixing of different entity types (i.e., points, lines, and areas) within a single file.

2.1 Route of Greater Nile Oil Pipeline (GNOP)

The datasets contain a line with the exact location coordinates of 1332 Turning Points along the pipeline route.

2.2 Main Stations of Greater Nile Oil Pipeline (GNOP)

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 8 oil field CPF, pump stations, and marine terminal.

2.3 Block Valve Stations of Greater Nile Oil Pipeline (GNOP)

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 28 block valve stations (BV) and offtake points.

We provide three types of file formats: .kmz, .shp, and .xlsx. Our users can open .kmz and .shp files with various GIS software and convert them into other GIS formats. You can use Excel to open .xlsx files, which contain the coordinates of pipeline route turning points and stations.
