The GIS Datasets contain the 542km 36″/24″/16″ Mtwara – Dar es Salaam Gas Pipeline, which runs from the Madimba Gas Processing Plant in Madimba, Mtwara Rural, Mtwara and Songo Songo Gas Processing Plant in Songosongo, Kilwa, Lindi. The pipeline ends at the Tegeta Gas Receiving Station in Wazo, Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam.

2 Files Included

Three GIS datasets are included in this product based on pipeline facility types. Additionally, some GIS formats do not allow the mixing of different entity types (i.e., points, lines, and areas) within a single file.

2.1 Route of Mtwara – Dar es Salaam Gas Pipeline

The datasets contain a line with the exact location coordinates of 761 turning points along the pipeline route.

2.2 Main Stations of Mtwara – Dar es Salaam Gas Pipeline

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 5 gas processing plants, gas receiving stations.

2.3 Block Valve Stations of Mtwara – Dar es Salaam Gas Pipeline

The datasets contain the exact location coordinates and names of the pipeline’s 15 block valve stations.

We provide three types of file formats: .kmz, .shp, and .xlsx. Our users can open .kmz and .shp files with various GIS software and convert them into other GIS formats. You can use Excel to open .xlsx files, which contain the coordinates of pipeline route turning points and stations.

 

3 Lifetime Free Updates:

The downloadable files of digital pipeline map are updated irregularly to reflect the relocation of pipeline, construction of new stations, removal of existing stations and changes of administrative areas.
